How can you get involved?
Interested in helping Pittsburgh take a new approach to single-use plastics?
There are a few ways you can get involved at Reimagined Recycling. Bring us your #5 plastics & help us sort at Collections, participate in an integral step of our process of our plastics transformation and schedule a Shred Session, or attend one of our events & classes!
Participate in a Collection!
Every Tuesday (& sometimes Thursdays & Fridays!) we hold Collection times for folks to bring in their clean #5 plastics. Together, we sort the plastics, talk recycling, and introduce our space and our mission.
A great place to start! 1 hour of plastic sorting, cleaning, & community.
Bring up to 2 paper bags of your #5 plastics.
Ready for more? 1.5 hours of plastic sorting, cleaning, community, & maybe even a little bit of shredding! Bring up to 2 paper bags of your #5 plastics.
Volunteer!
Don’t have any plastic right now, but still want to get involved? We are currently scheduling volunteers for plastic shredding at our Larimer location. Plastic shredding is an integral part of our process, and we need your help! Bring a friend and shred together, or plug in your headphones and listen to your favorite podcasts while helping to re-craft your city's plastic.

What do we mean by “collection”?
If you’re new to Reimagined Recycling or if it’s been a while since you’ve stopped by, you might be wondering what we mean by participating in “collection.” — Keep reading to learn what to expect!
Collection days are on Tuesdays from 6:30-7:30 pm for 4 participants.
Bring up to 2 paper bags of #5 plastics. (If you have large amounts of plastic, please consider visiting our resources page for other options.)
Together, we will sort and de-label all the donated plastic until we are finished or our time is up!
All plastic collection will take place inside the Reimagined Recycling HQ (1225 Larimer Ave.). Please stay home if you are feeling sick. All ages are welcome.
